Top 10 Best cover of “Fever”

Like Wikipedia says, “Fever” is a song written by Eddie Cooley and Otis Blackwell, who used the pseudonym John Davenport. It was originally recorded by Little Willie John in 1956. It has been covered by numerous artists from various musical genres (not always with a good result) but the song still and have the score of more or 90 covers since today.

This list is made by comparison of all cover i could find (more than 80), doing this I noticed that more of half had the same style and feeling (very loose), making the score job very boring and monotone.

A French female singer, her version of “Fever” has a feel of “Lady marmalade (Moulin Rouge version)”. It’s a nice pop version.

#9 – Madleen Kane

Is a Sweden girl model and singer that cover “Fever” song in 1978 with a disco club style very sticky, and her voice is very sexy and particular.

#8 – La Lupe

Guadalupe Victoria Yolí Raymond, a woman singer, born in Santiago de Cuba in 1939 and better known as “la Reina del Latin Soul”. Her cover of “Fever” is a Salsa mixture with other Latin rhythms.

#7 – John Farnham

John Peter Farnham is an English-born Australian pop singer, that cover “Fever” in a theatrical Broadway style. A very nice approach.

#6 – Meiko

She’s a singer and songwriter born in USA, her career is very recent and her songs have an indie/folk reminiscence. The piano job in this song is the most relevant part in this song.

#5 – Beyoncé

Beyoncé Knowles is a R&B/Pop diva. She sing “Fever” in the classic cabaret jazz style, but do not become the song in something boring and homogenic. The Beyoncé vocals makes the song pretty sexy and sensational.

#4 – Ray Charles and Natalie Cole

Classic “Fever” sung by Ray Charles and Natalie Cole, the song is very lineal but well performed and keep the original feeling of the song. Other Artist has made the same approach but this is the best one.

Okay, James Brown is pure R&B, Jazz, Gospel, is a pretty amazing musician, that perform “Fever” in his very own way.

#2 – Madonna

Everyone have heard about her controversial fifth album “Erotica”. In this album she cover the song “Fever” in a Pop version that is very consistent, she also perform this song in her Girlie show tour in 1993.

Definitely you have to see the whole video to fall in love to the Bublé performance and his catchy and charming personality on stage.
